IDS16 ~ EQ3 Assembly

Hello Thrusday! Did you just love the Tom Dixon x Caesarstone exhibit and the pop-up shop at IDSToronto? I am so glad to have attended the Q&A session where Tom Dixon said a key incredient to his success is to follow your heart and do what you love.  That is exactly what ten talented Canadian designers have in common and together curated a current, sophisticated (and highly functional) capsule collection, Assembly, for EQ3

Since opening its door in 2001, EQ3 has been designing and manufacturing its furniture and accessories right here in Winnipeg.  To celebrate the rich and diverse national identity, EQ3 Assembly represents a timestamp on Canadian designs in 2016.

"From the west coast to the east coast, each of our ten featured designers brought their unique point of view to the pieces they contributed. Separately each piece reflects its maker, together their diversity defines a new national design identity."

I couldn't agree more and was lucky to get a sneak peek of the collection at #IDS16!

I fell in love with the dressing table by Zoe Mowat when working on my second preview post.  So I was super excited to check out this sleek and whimsical table incorporating mirror, shelve, storage, and with capacity for a chair all in one compact design (HEART the pop of aqua blue, canary yellow, and the sharp royal blue!).

The super cool mirrors (in trapezoid or arc) by Anthony Frank Keeler is made with chrome plated steel + a solid oak base, and did you see the wall clock by Tomas Rojcik? Love that shot of mandarine orange and this instant standout statement is only $14.99!

From hip and modern to traditional with a twist, who doesn't want this graphic quilt by Kenneth Lavallee to cozy up by the fireplace this winter?

I am not a fan of beers or pops but with this cute as a button bottle opener in natural oak or indigo blue, I may just have to start stocking up the fridge!  Perhaps they are the perfect gifts when I visit Chris' family in Germany in Spring.

In case you haven't noticed, I am addicted with chairs.  So when I see these handsome armchair and side chair made of solid beech wood in black or a white wash finish by Matthew Kroeker, my heart skipped a beat.  What a beautiful reinterpretation of a classic Windsor chair!

Besides the unveiling of Assembly, EQ3 also brought along a few of its most popular pieces to #IDS16.  What a spectacular booth and I bet many of you are saying "let's just wrapped it all up and take it to my home"!

The Assembly collection is now available at EQ3 flagship location in Toronto.  Will I see you at EQ3 this weekend?
