IDS16 ~ CAVIAR 20 Decades of Chairs
Hello Wednesday! In case you haven't noticed, I am obsessed to chairs. I love them and I want them all ... I just need a bigger home! So you can imagine my excitement when I heard that CAVIAR 20 created a time capsule at IDS Toronto to show us the immaculate designs of some of the most iconic chairs in the past century. Please join me on this fantastical tour: Decades of Chairs.
Simplicity in design and stunningly color coded in black + white, these designers have created master pieces that are every bit as stylish as they are comfortable. I can see both of these chairs living happily ever after in my own home.
Strikingly bold with its form, use of materials, and choice of color palette, high five to these incredibly talented designers who dared to push the envelope and created such iconic references for decades to come.
Of course I am obsessed with this little white and nature wood number. I first see the black version of this chair from the fabulous loft designed by Croma Design and have been in love since. CAVIAR 20 has an amazing collection of art, sculpture, and furniture and I love how Troy curated the space meticulously by pairing each chair with the most perfect fine art / photography. #BRAVO!
Are you addicted to chairs just like me? I would love to know which chair from the past 7 decades is your favorite?
Four decades apart, both of these armchairs share similarity in design fundamentals and yet exude tremendously different personality. Pop culture or timeless classic, the choice is yours.
