#IDS17 ~ EQ3

Hello Wednesday! From international design superstars to creative talents within the Canadian boarder, IDS Toronto is the place to "wow" us whether you are looking to furnish your home or to build an extension to up the footprint.  We have checked out the exhibit by Jaime Hayon with Caesarstone and Nika Zupanc presented by South Hill Home on Monday.  Today I am talking you to EQ3xIDS17!

Determined to excel in quality and to manufacture domestically, EQ3 offers us 6 grades of leathers and over 90 fabrics for upholsterying pieces + highly customizable storage, dining, and occasional collections at attainable prices.  To best showcase its 2017 collection, EQ3 has literally built a model suite at #IDS17 and may I say: I am so ready to move in!

Welcome to my home, as I would say the moment I stood by the front door greeted by a series of Nelson bubble lamps.  EQ3 now carries the licensed, authentic bubble lamps manufactured by Herman Miller as part of the EQ3+ Collection.  What a perfect lighting installation, especially with the soaring ceiling! Yours truly happily own the Propeller and Saucer Bubble Lamps.  I may just be inspired to expand my collection.

I am also loving the Reverie Upholstered Bench, especially when it is paired with the Kendall Large Dining Table.  Customizable in length and height with Carrara marble as the standard option, I can see this table as one hot top seller in 2017!

Let's check out the living room shall we?

The minimalist design approach works seamlessly with the streamlined, contemporary Cello sectional while the sophisticated Custom Coffee Table and End Table set the stage for us to admire and celebrate the beauty of natural stone.

Did you notice the whimsical silkscreened linen art? Inspired by international folk art, Alexander Girard, the director of design for Herman Miller's textile devision from 1952 - 1973, has created over 300 textiles designs in multitudes of color-ways, wallpapers, prints, furniture, and objects.  11 patterns and 6 different sizes of these silkscreened linen panels are available at EQ3.  I love that the design team hung the four-leaf clover print above the Chiara Lounge Chair to create a cozy, cocoon-like feeling in a space with soaring ceiling height.  I can't wait to check out all the different patterns!

Of course this model suite also comes with a sumptuous bedroom and as in any small spaces, storage is key, and this is when multiple functional (highly customizable I must add) Grow Shelving Unit and the Cello Bed took my breathe away.

Acts as wall-divider to visually separate the living and the sleeping zones and provides practical storage solution for entertaining essentials such as glasses and plates + the perfect spots to display treasured collectibles and a few fresh blooms, the Grow Shelving Unit can literally grow to whatever length you want it to be!

And let's have a closer look at the Cello Bed.  I have not yet had a fully upholstered bed but this sensational piece dressed in green Lana Wool Felt had me at hello! Incredibility soft on hands yet supremely durable, this bed is not only good looking but also full of storage potential!

The Oslo table lamp has always been one of my favorites (I may have to get one real soon) and I just love the layering of textiles and materials to create an inviting and intimate atmosphere.

Last but not least, the design team was able to fit in a little office / morning bistro breakfast for two at a corner!  I am sure many of us living in a condo has a column or two at the corners.  This is actually what you can do right at home with the Simone Dinette Table and a pair of Eames Molded Wood Sidechairs!

Best of all, the booth is designed and built to be environmental responsible as the simple modular wood components can expand and contract based on what's needed and completely reusable with no waste.   Bravo to EQ3 for a fantastic exhibition to truly connect its 2017 collection with the visitors at a personal level and I know I was not the only one who didn't want to leave!
