One Room Challenge Spring 2017 ~ Week 4

Welcome to Week 4 of One Room Challenge!  It's hard to believe there is only 2 weeks left before my dining room makeover is ready for reveal.  Even though we have been working around the clock and have made a fantastic facelift to the foundation of the room (LOVE my Calico wallpaper), the To-Do list is still long with one crucial component: custom credenza + sideboard / desk.

I have looked everywhere for inspiration before nailing down my final design on the custom cabinetry, and these breathtakingly beautiful creations by Nam of Nam Dang Mitchell Design Inc. are exactly what I want in my own home: sleek, contemporary, incredibly elegant with a hint of edginess.

A couple of brainstorming sessions with my cabinet guy + various homework sketches later:

My dream credenza that combines practical storage and style I am after is almost ready! Don't you just love receiving these progress shots from your cabinet guy?

I have opted to go without hardware on the credenza for a seamless look.  Besides, a beautiful piece of natural marble will be its crown jewel so I figured I should give the desk its star treatment with hardware.  My go-to store for stunning hardware in Toronto is Upper Canada Specialty Hardware.  Carrying major hardware brands including Top Knobs, Rocky Mountain Hardware, Richelieu, and Emtek, UCSH is the perfect one-stop-shop for you to see them all and these my finalists:

As you can see, Option 3 came home with me.  I love the jewellery like quality of this round knob from Lew's Hardware.  Its brushed brass finish is what I would describe as "effortlessly elegant".  If you are looking for a hardware collection that will instantly update and elevate the look of your cabinets, I highly recommend you to check out Lew's Hardware.

We also managed to tackle the lighting in my dining room and YES the Bocci Series 28.7 is up! It's purely gorgeous and it's perfect with my Calico Wallpapers don't you think?

The electrician also installed the Horizon wall sconces from ANONY.  A little laser action to make sure everything is perfectly aligned and the sconces are spectacular!  If you want to get a pair for yourself, be sure to contact ANONY soon as they are just about to restock this fantastic fixture!

oh and yes, cabinets are also here (see my fabulous credenza and floating desk).  Fingers crossed the cabinet install will be a breeze and all the pieces will come together in time for Week 5 of One Room Challenge.  Be sure to check out Week 4 progress of the 20 featured designers and my fellow guest participants! #OneRoomChallenger
