#IDS18 ~ Monogram x Sarah Richardson: Resort Kitchen

Hello Thursday and welcome to round 2 of kitchen spectacular by Sarah Richardson x Monogram Canada at IDS Toronto.  When asked to design her dream kitchen, Sarah zoomed in to one idea: relaxing resort living with fresh ideas and tropical flair.  And here is how Sarah's Resort Kitchen comes to life at #IDS18!

True to her signature kitchen designs, Sarah designed a resort kitchen that is both functional and beautiful.  Here is my checklist:
  • long run of counter space for meal preparation
  • state of the art appliances including the columns refrigerators, the french-door wall oven, the microwave drawer and the double drawer fridge all neatly concealed behind the custom panel doors in shutter style and dressed in pastel grey and millennial pink
  • plenty of spaces to display your everyday china + favorite artwork and accessories
  • a pair of classic George Nelson bubble pendants for an instant statement

And here are few key elements I would definitely incorporate in my own home, starting with full height fridge with custom panel and a narrow full height display column for one very attractive corner.

Make the kitchen island a triple threads by incorporating meal preparation, casual dining, and designated spots for small appliances so they are accessible without taking up valuable counter space.

I love wallpaper and with open shelves instead of upper cabinets being a lasting trend in kitchen design, there is no better place to install the wallpaper your heart desires in your dream kitchen.  Teaming up with Brewster Home Fashions, Sarah gave us an exciting sneak peek of her wallpaper collection to come in spring 2018.  I can't wait to see the full collection and perhaps picking one to use in my own home.

Ready for a walk through with Sarah? Check this out!

Thanks Sarah and Monogram Canada for a truly inspiring experience at IDS Toronto to see two spectacular kitchens in person, and to learn the latest in design ideas and kitchen appliances.  I am now dreaming of my next kitchen (hopefully the pre-construction condo is ready in a year), how about you?
