One Room Challenge Spring 2017 ~ Featured Designers
Hello Thursday and welcome again to One Room Challenge!! After 6 weeks of overtime to get my own dining room wrapped up last week (see my Week 6 REVEAL here), I finally had a moment to sit down with a glass of bubbles and thoroughly enjoyed all the incredible makeovers at this round of One Room Challenge hosted by Linda of Calling It Home with media partner House Beautiful.
One Room Challenge invites 20 talented design bloggers to share their spectacular transformation with amazing sponsors including The Mine, Fabricut, Metrie, and Newwall just to name a few. The makeovers are absolutely mind-blowing, and today I will be sharing my favourite spaces by the 20 featured designers.
Rambling Renovators: Preppy Traditional Living Room
Jen knocked it out of the park with a complete transformation of a previous blank canvas where the only charms of the room were its lavender walls and a wood burning fireplace. With an impeccable sense of style, a super handy / hardworking partner in crime, and the determination to create a chic yet family-friendly living space, Jen has done the impossible in 6 short weeks!

House of Brinson: Queen of May Guest Bedroom
From bright and colorful to the most sumptuous shade of teal, William and Susan totally nailed it in their 6 weeks makeover to turn a guest room in total despair into a beyond gorgeous room I want to check-in immediate (and I may never leave)! Traditional flair at heart, this room is filled with treasures from different era where no one piece of furniture is alike yet everything fits together harmoniously. The juxtaposition of old and new, the to-die-for Gracie Wallpaper, and that chandelier ... I WANT IT ALL!

House Updated: Master Bathroom
One Room Challenge truly is an incredible resource for inspiration and ideas, especially when you have an awkward space where you are just not too sure how to make the most of. Well say hi to Brit, the talented designer from Seattle who is re-imaging her second home from "Old Lady" to AWESOME! I love that Brit and her other half tackled all the work themselves (can you imagine installing the marble tiles in a herringbone pattern?) and as if a tranquil bathroom isn't enough for 6 weeks, the couple tucked in a beautiful laundry central under a sloped ceiling just because! Perfect use of an otherwise unused space and who wouldn't want to do laundry here?
By the way, I think that runner is the most perfect rug in this bathroom for pattern + color. BRAVO!

Christine Dovey: Basement
That's right ... Christine has transformed her entire basement which includes a family room, a dining room, a secret playroom, a hallway, and a bedroom (aka the Lady Lounge). Christine wows me every time with her One Room Challenge makeover and this ultra ambitious undertaking wrapped up on a high note, proving our spaces can be every bit as stylish as they are functional and kid-friendly.
My personal favorites are: the sleek fireplace, the DIY daybed embellished with trims and fringes, the wallpaper choices, and the white oak panels / built-ins for a super luxurious look.

Lark & Linen: Living Room Reveal
I have been following Jacquelyn on Instagram for quite some time now and have always been amazed by her beautiful captures. So I know I am in for a treat when I heard Jacquelyn is participating One Room Challenge this spring!
Effortlessly elegant is how I would describe this stunning living room and if this is what living in the clouds is like, someone please finds me a plane! The room is perceived as a "white" room. However, if you look closely, this exquisite room is filled with shades of off-white, subtle patterns, and the hints of gun metal grey to ground the space. Two words: LOVE IT!!
P.S. I have a similar chandelier in my foyer too!

Old Brand New: Dining Room Reveal
Ready for some colors? Dabito has you covered with his "eggs Benedict Cumberbatch mimosa" dining room and if you ask me, this dining room is totally delicious! The bold vibrant yellow on the walls, the soothing avocado green on the chairs, the mix of natural woods (4 different species), and the showstopper chandelier and wall sconces, I was floored the moment I saw this room.
Sunday brunch right here anyone?

If you have seen my dining room makeover, you'd know my palette has gone more subtle (see my condo in Style at Home here) and I am gravitating toward a more streamline aesthetic in design. This modern, minimalist living room by SKETCH42 is absolutely, beyond a doubt, the most stunning contemporary space I have ever seen ... and the catch here is, it feels so cozy!! The natural fibres / textiles have most certainly distinguish this white box from a stark, clinical office. Nicole has curated an exceptional mix of iconic furniture pieces that demand attention + an unexpected twist with a dynamite antique Chinese screen.
Stunning ... just stunning.
